Rosa's Obituary

Rosa Cicali
(Aug 30, 1930 - May 12, 2010)

There’s no place like home…except Mom Mom’s. For Rosa family always came first. Nothing made her happier than a full home and a busy kitchen. Without a need for measuring cup or scale, her recipes were always perfect. But the food was secondary to the company. More than a babysitter, she was always happy to have the grandkids. Her only complaint; when they were not there enough. With such a love of family and food, it was only fitting that her journey from her birthplace in Italy would bring her to the US on Thanksgiving Day. Her skills as a seamstress were always in demand. Family and neighbors always knew she was there to fix an outfit, and with only someone’s dimensions she could make a dress in no time. Shortly after moving to the US she met a young man named Anthony Cicali, Sr. It was not long until they were married and settled in Riverside. Before his passing in 2003, their lives were blessed by their children: Anthony, Jr. (Nancy) of Riverside, Carl (Wendy) of Mt. Laurel and Gina Cicali of Riverside, and again by their grandchildren: Anthony, III, Peter and Amanda Cicali. She is the sister of Maria Spano of Riverside, her siblings in Italy: Teresa Paternoster, Sabina Carulli , Antonietta Spano, Benito Spano; and the late Michael Spano, Vincenzo Spano, Giacomo Spano, Francesco Spano and Pasquale Spano. She is the sister-in-law of Dominic (Frances) Cicali of Delran, Nicholas (Terri) Cicali of Nesconset, NY and Grace Cicali of Riverside; and the late Joseph Cicali, Catherine Pallidino, Teresa Denning and Virginia Tedesco. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews. Come celebrate 79 family centered years (8/30/1930-5/12/2010)
